Over 630km of railway tracks been updated in Kazakhstan

More than 630 km of railways have been modernized during summer-traveling operations. It was reported in the press-service of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy".

As part of the overhaul of the track, the railing has been laid of more than 317.5 km long, the medium repair of over 77 km of track has been completed and a complete replacement of the track gauge with a total length of 237 km has been completed.

"During the repair work, the rail supports were completely replaced of 51.9 km, the rails with a total length of 2,840 km were grinded, 1,590 km of track were strengthened, 330 km of the ballast layer were improved. By the means of the complexes of DUOMAT track machines 4,087 kilometers were improved", Director of the Department of Way and Structures of the Branch of JSC "NC "KTZ" - "Directorate of the Backbone Network" Amangos Baimagambetov said. 

In addition to road works, 7 bridges have been overhauled by contractors. Also, workers of MO-Kapshagay repaired 77 artificial structures and repaired 23 artificial structures outside the plan. To date, the development of design estimates for the capital repair of the bridge on the Semey-Zhana-Semey stretch is underway.

The repair of the backbone network made it possible to increase the speed of passenger trains on 175km of modernized sections, including for trains formed from "Tulpar-Talgo" wagons on 144 km, container trains on 70 km, for freight traffic on 154 km of the republican railways. At present, this work continues.

"Annual measures of JSC "NC "KTZ" for the modernization of the railroad are aimed at improving traffic safety and increasing the speeds of passenger and freight trains", A. Baimagambetov said.
