• Kazakhstan, Germany step up trade and economic cooperation 15 April 12:26 The Kazakhstan-Germany intergovernmental working group opened the 12th session in Berlin with trade and economic cooperation issues at stake, marking the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s first ever participation as the main holder. The Ministry has been seeing to attracting foreign investments and promoting Kazakh exports abroad. Yermek Kosherbayev, the Deputy Foreign Minister – Co-Chairman of the Kazakh part of the intergovernmental working group, spearheaded the Kazakh delegation, meanwhile the German delegation was led by Ekhart Franz, the Deputy Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Co-Chairman of the German part of the working group.
• Development Bank of Kazakhstan’s loan portfolio more than doubled in 5 years 11 April 17:36 Kazakhstan’s Development Bank, which is a subsidiary of “Baiterek” National Managing Holding, saw an 8.7% increase in its loan portfolio and stood at KZT1.7tln in 2018, with projects in manufacturing representing 77%. Between 2014 and 2018, the Bank’s loan portfolio rose 2-fold.
