About 1,000 girls vaccinated in Pavlodar region

The pilot implementation of human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination started on voluntary basis among girls aged 9 to 12 years in Pavlodar region, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

"During this period about thousand teenage girls were vaccinated. Two girls after vaccination felt unwell. They were admitted to hospital of Ekibastuz city  to provide qualified supervision. Currently, their state of health is satisfactory, " the agency reports.

As the result, the Committee of State sanitation and epidemiological center of the Ministry of Health established and started work to clarify the situation with the participation of specialists: immunologists, allergists, pediatricians, epidemiologists, which also involved representatives of non-governmental and international organizations - WHO, UNICEF.

This vaccination is aimed at preventing infection and early cancerous changes among girls, since half of the requests for medical help is already on the stage of the disease when doctors are unable to help woman.
