48 int’l observers accredited for presidential elections in Kazakhstan

The Central Election Commission has accredited 48 more foreign observers for monitoring the elections, scheduled for April 26, 2015.

"Today, on March 28, 2015, the Central Election Commission has adopted a resolution On the accreditation of observers from foreign states and international organizations for snap elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for April 26, 2015. According to the decision of the CEC, 48 observers from nine foreign countries and one international organization have been accredited", the CEC reported.

Four of them are from the Kingdom of Norway, three - from the Australian Republic and the Republic of Serbia; two - from the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Lithuania; one - from the UK and Northern Ireland, Hungary, Latvia and the Slovak Republic, as well as 30 observers OSCE / ODIHR from 18 states.

Thus, as of March 28, 2015 the CEC has accredited 83 observers of the two Missions of international organizations and 18 foreign countries. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has accredited 98 representatives of foreign media from 19 countries.

Accreditation of observers from the foreign states and international organizations will be carried out by the CEC before 20 April 2015.
